The Society was formed in 1977 to encourage the
study of Family History, Genealogy and
Heraldry, primarily within the County of Bedfordshire.
WHY JOIN A FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY?
Many family historians join both their local society and one or more
societies in the areas where their ancestors lived. You
can attend meetings and join in the activities of your local society.
The society in the area where your ancestors lived can help you with
your research in various ways and help you to contact others who are
tracing the same family as you. If you are just starting out you will
soon find it is not the case that all research can be done on the internet.
It is better to learn how to do it properly and more enjoyable to work
with others.
